Katrina's Letter Of The Week

January 4 · Issue #41 · View online
Every week, I'll write you a letter. A letter about anything, really. My goal is just to make you think. Then, I handpick 3 ideas and posts you'll love (and learn from).

Over the holiday, my boss made me work when I was sick. Told me I shouldn’t take days off. I was working at 7pm on New Year’s Eve.
But wait. Put down the pitchfork. My boss is me.
These are all things I’ve said to myself as an entrepreneur. I pride myself on how I manage and coach my team, but I am the worst boss to myself. I’m not kind, patient or forgiving with myself. Instead, I can be harsh, unforgiving, and rude. Things I would hate from any manager.
So, as I march into 2019 - that’s my goal. Be a better manager to me. In fact, that resolution and this letter were inspired by one of the posts we’re sharing this week. I’ve also linked to a new post from my blog about creative boundaries (there’s a fine line between creative and creepy), lessons we can learn from video games, a new way to celebrate technical degrees and a powerful, personal post from my friend Kristina Minyard.
Hope your 2019 is off to a great start. Thanks for reading.
