Three Ears Letter Of The Week

November 2 · Issue #34 · View online
Every week, I'll write you a letter. A letter about anything, really. My goal is just to make you think. Then, I handpick 5 posts you'll love (and learn from).

… recruiters are expected to be good at everything.
Hear me out on this one.
As a recruiter, you’re supposed to be a good communicator, task manager, time saver, candidate finder, and writer. I’m sure I missed some things.
Reality check. Even the best multitaskers aren’t good at everything.
But there’s one thing that you can do to improve results across the board: Learn how to write a better story.
I genuinely believe if recruiters wrote better copy, they would improve results across every single goal. (I’m biased since making recruiters better copywriters is one of my life goals.)
This idea and challenge was just the beginning of my conversation with Derek Zeller on the Engage Podcast this week. I hope you’ll check out that link below alongside advice on how we can support victims of domestic violence at work, my perspective on privilege, one of the best LGBT workplace videos I’ve ever seen and a reminder that if you’re going to be your biggest critic, you also have to be your own cheerleader.
Have a great weekend -
